Half Term Homework

Hi all,

Thank you so much for your support over the past 8 weeks. We hope you all have a well deserved rest over the half term break.
We have put together a selection of phonics resources to help in preparing your child for reading the real and alien words in the statutory assessment. Please choose 2 activities for your child to complete (Apologies that some of the activities are multiple pages including answers – please don’t feel you have to do all!). We have also attached an autumn sheet to do for fun!

Many thanks,

Miss Burton (molly.burton@taw.org.uk) and Miss Brown (lucy.brown@taw.org.uk)

Homework 6/10/21

In celebration of Black History month for this weeks homework we would like you to research successful black GB Olympians who competed in the recent Tokyo Olympics this year, such as Alice Dearing who was the first and only black woman on the GB swimming team.

Once you have chosen a significant individual to focus on we would like you to create a poster about this person and their achievements.

We would like this homework due in on Monday 11th October

Homework 29.09.21

Hi all,

Thank you for all of the amazing describing on the previous homework.

Over the past few weeks we have been checking we can read and spell all of our Year 1 common exception words before moving onto Year 2 words.

Please see the attached sheet and practise reading and spelling those words that your child might find more tricky (some they will find easy, so you don’t need to practise these). You could choose a couple a night to work through. You do not need to return the sheet on Monday, instead make note of the words your child struggled with and that you will continue with at home.

Many thanks,

Miss Burton and Miss Brown

Homework 22.09.21

Hi all,

This week’s homework is English – expanded noun phrases (adjective + noun/ adjective, adjective + noun). Your child can choose which sheet they would like to complete, describing either Dave’s cave or Dave the troll. They do not need to do both, unless they really want to!

Please let us know if you require a paper copy if you haven’t already. This will be due on Monday 27th September.

Thank you,

Miss Burton and Miss Brown
